To increase awareness and contribute to Alzheimer’s research and care.
At 52 years young, my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I was shocked, as was everyone in our
family. How could this be happening to my best friend,
to the person that taught me everything?
My mother
raised my brother and me to be responsible, respectful,
independent and gracious. The strong character and
loyalty she instilled in us is even more important now
as her illness keeps progressing.
My mother passed on her compassion for others and her hobby of writing letters and sending cards to those you love and care for. I decided to take what she taught me to love and use it to help fight this terrible disease. I have some wonderful notes my mother wrote me over the years and I often read them to recall what she really felt at certain times in her life. With Alzheimer's it is hard for her to express her feelings and now she no longer writes. I still have the final notes that she wrote me with very few words on them and those are the most valuable of all. It doesn't take a lot of words for someone to express themselves. With my collection of mother's hand written words, even the next generation can read what she was really like.
My products are designed to encourage you to write letters throughout the year to those loved ones in your life. A forgotten art to some in our fast paced world, but honestly, emails won't be saved as intimate keepsakes. Forgetmenot note cards will create memories with friends and family. It is time to sit down with a good cup of coffee and send someone a written treasure.
Forgetmenot Ink's mission is to increase awareness and contribute to Alzheimer's research and care. I invite you to join in the cause of "Writing out Alzheimer's"!
